Seattle Shakespeare Company's Camp Bill Playbill
As the marketing and public relations intern and site manager for the Seattle Shakespeare Company during the summer of 2009, I was responsible for printed collateral, office administrative duties, customer service, and managing the traveling performances of the Wooden O theater. As a a lifelong theater goer and a fan of Shakespeare's plays since I was young -- I frequently attend the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland and even stood as a groundling in the yard section for The Taming of the Shrew during the summer of 2012 in Shakespeare's Globe in London -- this was a very exciting opportunity for me.
Each summer, the Seattle Shakespeare Company holds several one to two week intensive theater camps for kids ages 10 to 15 called Camp Bill. One of my internship assignments was to create a playbill for the Camp Bill production of The Taming of the Shrew. This program was created using Photoshop, then printed and assembled. These programs were distributed at the student performances in the Center House Theatre in downtown Seattle.
